Welcome back! Lovely photos of your colours as the spring awakens here.

I do want to correct Elizabeth Oldfield though. The Orthodox Church, at least, has quite a clear theology of creation. It's deep and old and has been passed on by a lot of Church Fathers and practiced by a lot of saints. I'm studying it at the moment. That this has been lost or bent out of shape in the West (like most other things here) does not mean it doesn't exist. It just means people like Elizabeth haven't heard of it.

Hi Paul, it is good to be back in the Isles and to hear from you.

I am sure Elizabeth would love to hear from you about Orthodox theology of creation. I have personally encountered many Christians who adore and protect creation via nature as part their sacred duty to God. Wishing you May beauty! Let's speak soon.

While I would not have called it "duty," for myself personally, your opening paragraph perfectly describes a calling which has been calling to me, a commitment more than a duty, an essay, perhaps, in that essay basically means "to try". To try in writing, in speech, in touch, in faith -- which to me means welcoming and allowing that which is worthy. Duty is as good a word as any, then. But I don't like the idea of "duty" as much as calling, because for so many a duty is a bit of a hair shirt.

May I gently invite you to explore with me what I mean. I mean to become the very embodiment of this calling in a new space which has just opened up, and I'd LOVE to welcome you into it. It isn't "my" space so much as it is ours, however this togetherness emerges and unfolds.

I'm wanting to radically re-imagine, with others, the primacy of touch.

I can't believe you mentioned Robin of Sherwood! I have recently started watching it for the first time (at the suggestion of a new friend who's in the 40th anniversary audios) and am hooked... They had me at the inclusion of indigenous earth magic!

So glad you are enjoying it. I am watching it for the first time in the 40years since it came out. It is one of the best. Also - good quarterstaff fights! See you this summer, Joumana.
