Wonderful words as always, your writing is both profound and as light as a wind-borne seed, a quietly spoken promise of goodness, of belief and hope and encouragement-to-continue, despite the darknesses around us. Deep thanks.

Boy, you're really singing this morning Caro. Nettles still sting--that's my favorite line. They nudge me back toward wakefulness regularly, and I'm always glad. With care, Adam

I was introduced to that old yew tree back in 97. The lady who did the introduction for us advised a certain caution with that personage. I guess so.

(And I have briefly tacked over to David Benjamin.)

"... A safe place to sleep? Tens of thousands of people are being systematically killed and starved, ignored by your government, who now deem questions on this matter to be ‘violence’.

Thank you for that.

Yes ... and not for the first time. Now we witness the retun of 'total war'. I remember, I am old enough, when the world got badly frightened. The two atom bombs had ended a war with yet more ghastly totals.

What to do? I turned up at a hastily prepared vigil on a beach a fortnight or so ago after the holiday people had gone home for tea, and watched the waves wash onto the childrens' sandcastles. We were on a 'heritage coast' littered with fortifications old and new. A mixed bunch of heritages among us it turned out, and the rain just beginning off the sea.

This was truly exquisite, first reading it, then listening. Amazing. I am puzzled though, which part is actually David Benjamin Blower's poem? I couldn't discern.

It's right at the bottom. Scroll down to 'This week's good thing', and the audio is right there. I'll ask David if it's ok to add the text too.

When you /thee/thou put words together and then share them aloud, my heart feels them as though sung and resonates in spontaneous harmony. Such a wonderful, fierce and joyful tenderness shines out, illuminating and splitting the divisions between all that encompasses ‘I/we/thee/all.’

Beautiful Caro. One thing I love about Blindboy Boatclub is how he says "YE" meaning 'all of you'. A Limerick thing?

I loved this post, and “what is your mission” when straight into me - after reading many of your postings, this has made me subscribe - I listened to the post and unsure of what happened, as it was longer than the minutes it said - you talked about John Kells saying something along the lines of - suffering is certainly part of the world, having a practice just about avoiding it is one thing, surely energy is more interesting - I would love to know that actual quote if his but can’t seem to find it now? If anyone can point me in the right direction - thanks for your writings and look forward to sometime joining the movement class

I think maybe the audio player just picked another of my posts and played to you! John said suffering is just a part of life and isn't to be dwelled upon as there are far more interesting things to do with our energy. To find the quote you could go to my archive page and type 'suffering' in the search box. That should do it!
